Ms. Iffat Imran Gardezi

Deputy Chief of Mission

Ms. Iffat Imran GARDEZI is a career officer of the Pakistan Foreign Service. She joined the Foreign Service in 1987. She served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1987-1993) in various Divisions, including the United States, United Nations, and the Personnel Divisions. Ms. Gardezi was posted to the Consulate General of Pakistan, Hong Kong as Vice Consul (1993-1998) and then to the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations in Vienna, as First Secretary (1998-2000). She again served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director (2001-2005) in the Security Council & Human Rights Division, Central Asia Division, and the Policy Planning Division. She was posted as Counselor and later promoted to Minister in the Embassy of Pakistan, Berlin (2005-2009). She joined the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington , DC in July 2009, as Minister. On August 5, 2010, she assumed responsibilities of Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy.

Ms. Gardezi holds a Masters Degree in Economics.

She is married and has two sons.
