Ambassador Haqqani phones Aafia, assures her of govt's support
Pakistan's Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani on Monday phoned detained scientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui and discussed the government's efforts to secure her release and repatriation to Pakistan. Haqqani asked Aafia about her health and assured her that the Pakistani government was doing all it could for her release. Aafia, a US-educated Pakistani neuroscientist, is accused of attempting to attack US officials in Afghanistan.
